(Photo: Splash News Online) Chicago star Queen Latifah was confronted with a Christmas heist during her stay on the island of Tobago, part of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
The 35-year-old was taking a leisurely holiday vacation in the Caribbean, indulging in a barbecue brunch organized in her honor, when thieves made their way into her suite, making off with over $10,000 worth of jewelry; including two gold rings and a gold bracelet. Hotel security at the posh Stone Haven Villas were quickly summoned, and they in turn contacted local police.

No evidence of the jewelry has been found, nor was there any sign of forced entry. Police suspect this may have been an inside job. Whoever stole the jewels, it sure must have put a damper on the end of a successful year for Latifah, after starring in the lauded The Secret Life Of Bees and the now slightly ironic heist film Mad Money.
