Police Have Got Jonas Brothers' Backs

The Jonas Brothers, who will be performing for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, will be given extra protection by the NYPD. The police who are tasked with protecting Times Square worry that it's going to be a 'mob scene' beyond the typical mob scene that gathers to watch the famed ball drop.
No one can enter the area without passing through a checkpoint. Most backpacks are banned and people are being searched. Even the manhole covers are welded shut.
