Tom Cruise was pretty happy on The Tonight Show last night, telling and Jay Leno that he was "surprised" by his Golden Globe nomination for best comedic supporting actor in Tropic Thunder.
According to Ben Stiller, who directed the film, Cruise -- who is barely recognizable as a balding, chubby, producer -- really threw himself into the part and came up with the idea of having him dance to hip-hop.
In the DVD commentary, Stiller says he has no idea where Cruise learned those moves.
Cruise also talked about his wife Katie Holmes, who is still on Broadway in the revival of All My Sons, and admitted he would also like to try the stage.
"I like making movies but I'm not saying no to Broadway," he says. "I'd like to do a musical."
Cruise also commented about Leno's widely publicized, upcoming shift to primetime.
