Christmas Scores At Box Office

Much to Hollywood's surprise, the comedy Four Christmases starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon earned a substantial $46.7 million dollars at the box office over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was expected to take in the low 30s and made it to the number one slot.
Meanwhile, the epic Australia backed by the star power of Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman squeezed out $20 million, which was also pegged to score in the low 30s. It came in at number five.

Twilight was a strong number two in its second week, having grossed $119.7 million in two weeks. Bolt finally found its footing actually going up from its soft opening weekend to earn a total of $66.8 million to date. Finally, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa continued to roar with a big $159.1 million total.
