Battlestar Galactica may be history, but fans of the series need not mourn. Sci-Fi Channel has given the go-ahead to Caprica, a new series set 50 years before the events in the smash space opera.
Eric Stoltz, Esai Morales, Polly Walker, and Paula Malcomson will star as two powerful, rival families who feud over politics and technology.
"It's an intense family drama set on an earthlike planet, in the near future, speaking to a lot of the ethical dilemmas that we as a human race are going to have to face very shortly," said network head Dave Howe.
