Balfour's Crime Of Passion
Dec. 4 2008, Published 11:41 a.m. ET
According to prosecutors, William Balfour killed three of Jennifer Hudson's family members out of jealous rage.
At a hearing yesterday, Cook County prosecutors claimed that Balfour was enraged at his estranged wife Julia, Hudson's sister, for dating another man. He reportedly confronted her at the family's home.
Balfour and Julia supposedly left together, but he subsequently returned to the house and, later that day, the bodies of Hudson's mother and brother were discovered there. Though prosecutors say that Balfour confessed to the killings that day, the young man still maintains his innocence.
