That's right, day trippers!
In honor of their 50th anniversary, The Smurfs is the latest early-80's family favorite to get the big screen treatment.
And maybe even a trilogy of Smurf movies? Columbia Pictures Chairperson Amy Pascal says there is "potentially a series of films in the making."
The Smurfs will feature voice talents John Lithgow (presumably as Gargamel) and Julia Sweeney (we're thinking Smurfette).
- Johnny Depp's Longtime Pal, Legendary Rock N' Roll Guitarist Jeff Beck Dead At 78
- Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Tell-All Netflix Series Delayed To 2023 After Attacks On ‘The Crown’
- Dianne Feinstein Refuses To Retire Before Her Senate Term Ends In 2024 Despite Colleagues Arguing She Is 'Mentally Unfit To Serve'
The movie will be in 3-D CGI, unlike the original morning cartoon which is 2-D, or the comic strip that spawned them which written in Belgian so all we could do was look at the pictures and wonder who these little blue people were.
Release is set for Christmas, 2010.
