(Photo: Splash News Online) Earlier today, a British court rejected an appeal by singer Amy Winehouse's husband to set aside his sentence for assault and obstructing justice.

In July, Blake Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in jail for beating pub manager James King and then trying to bribe him to keep quiet. Fielder-Civil had spent nine months in jail awaiting trial but was allowed out to live at a drug rehab facility.

In turning down the 26 year-old's request, Judge Christopher Pitchford did suggest he continue his drug treatment, saying "he has a worthwhile future" only if he cleans himself up.

Fielder-Civil was "disappointed but not really surprised" by the ruling.

Winehouse and Fielder-Civil married in Miami in May 2007. He was arrested 6 months later.
