(Photo: Splash News Online) It's easy to knock celebs who jump on this cause or that because it fits their schedule and demographic needs.
Not Ben Affleck, who has risked his life by returning to a war zone.
Back in May, the actor shot a documentary for Nightline about the horrors of life in the eastern Congo. Now, he's gone back to the unsettled region -- for the fourth time in two years -- to try and draw world attention to the situation.
"He's determined to do what he can to get the nations of the world to help," said a friend close to the star. "This ethnic, genocidal war's been going on for 4 years and has killed over 5 million people. That's not a situation where he feels comfortable sitting on the sidelines."
This visit has the actor going to refugee camps and meeting with officials to find out what kind of aid is needed.
