Your Mom Is So Tired Of This Election That She Wants To Die

  • New York magazine's Kurt Andersen observed the other day that the 1980s never ended—that every decade prior ended cleanly and distinctly, but the '80s have gone on and on, which makes a lot of sense if you think about it! (Also maybe it means we are living on borrowed Donnie Darko time, purgatory-style, and things are just happening over and over until we get them right, and then we finally get to die. Or something!) And so the sudden and rapid reemergence last night of election-related "your momma" jokes—for instance, "Your momma is sooooo stupid that she thinks the vice president is in charge of the Senate!"—is the perfect way to both celebrate the '80s and to make this horrible revolting election bearable! It all started here, at blogging kingpin Anil Dash's Twitter: "Yo moms such a ho they set up robocalls for all her booty calls." It gets better. (Worse?) We declare a winner: "Yo mama so fat, the only Supreme Court verdict she wants to overturn is HomeTown Buffet v. Yo Mama."
