Woody Allen Will Not Have You Make a Skinny Hipster Out of Him

Woody Allen was in court Monday, sticking it to Dov Charney and the mutton-chopped Polaroidist's company, American Apparel. The filmmaker is suing Charney & Co. for $10 million, claiming he never consented to have his likeness (a shot of Allen from Annie Hall dressed as a Hasidic Jew) used for AA billboards or Web ads to hawk slutty, over-priced cotton separates. Calling the ads "especially egregious and damaging," Allen told a U.S. District Court in Manhattan that he does not endorse products and services in the U.S. It's too bad, because under different circumstances, we could see Woody and Dov really hitting it off over some hot young tail.
