How's this for synergy? A new year is just around the corner, which means that women everywhere are going to start wishing they'd purged themselves of all that stuffing, pecan pie, and the seven hot toddies they washed it all down with. At least that's what the gals at Vogue are banking on with their January issue.
While typically the inaugural issue of any new year is thin on ads, Vogue is deliciously plumped up for '08, thanks to a staggering 28-page calendar insert from diet drug Alli on which you can chart your weight loss and read chipper tips on zapping fat. If that didn't hammer home the message, you can flip to page 90, where Alli has passive-aggressively placed yet another spread, this one encouraging you to drop even more pounds, presumably so you can fit into the tiny silver Rachel Roy dress in their "Working Girl" spread.
