Foley Exposer Wants Exposure

WELCOME TO THE TERRORDOME Rocking a John Mark Karr-style polo, Hudson reveals himself to the Web The anonymous blogger who set in motion Mark Foley's downfall has come out. Lane Hudson, the former Democratic operative and Human Rights Campaign staffer whom RadarOnline.com first named as the author of Stop Sex Predators, began posting under his own name earlier this week on a new blog, News For The Left, intended "for liberals and progressives." The blog seems to be up and down (high traffic, perhaps?), but his posts so far include dispatches on the Iraq Study Group report, fundraising by 2008 Senate candidates, and Elizabeth Dole, who either will or won't be running for reelection in '08.
Hudson endeavored to keep his identity a secret as the scandal he touched off—by printing what purported to be e-mails from teenage pages claiming Foley had hit on them—was raging across front pages and harming the Republican Party's electoral prospects. Even after Human Rights Watch was told that the Stop Sex Predators blogger was one of its own and fired him, he continued to lie low. Now, in his blogger profile, Hudson finally lifts the curtain a bit on himself: He's 29, he lives in Washington, D.C., his sign is Aries, and he was born in the year of the snake. (No doubt Foley wouldn't be suprised by that last factoid.)
UPDATE: Hudson writes that he'll be on Anderson Cooper's show tonight talking about the House Ethics Committee report. And he's asking for advice on (illegally) posting the segment on YouTube.
