AND THE DIRECTOR'S CUT? Spielberg • Escape plan: DreamWorks is close to cutting a deal with Reliance, one of India's biggest entertainment firms. The deal would provide Steven Spielberg and Co. with the cash needed to be free of Viacom's evil clutches.
• Last dance: Cyd Charisse, the beautiful dancer who starred in MGM musicals with Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, has passed away. She was 86.
• She'll cost you: When Katie Holmes takes the Broadway stage in September in Arthur Miller's All My Sons, tickets will cost more than Broadways shows with less star power. Same deal for Daniel Radcliffe's Equus, but at least that has nudity.
