GET A GRIP Crandall, Sewell (bruises)
Domestic violence is never a laughing matter—even if it involves a would-be model and a member of a purportedly "sensitive guy" band prominently featured in a crappy Zach Braff flick, and thus has all the elements of sketch comedy. Sunday, Elyse Sewell, aka the chick from the first season of American's Next Top Model who hated everyone else in the house, took to LiveJournal to blog about her weekend, which seemingly entailed getting "roughed up" in a Sacramento hotel by her "shitfaced" ex-boyfriend. The man in question? That would be Martin Crandall, best known as the keyboardist for The Shins. (Have you heard that one song of theirs? It'll change your life!)

Thankfully, Sewell was able to escape from the room "through a blitzkrieg of violence" and notify hotel security, who called the cops and arrested Crandall. Citing a bite mark on his arm, Crandall told police that he was actually the victim of an assault and had Sewell arrested. Sewell, who claims the bite that caused said mark was in self-defense, made bail and was released; the five feet nine inch, 145 lb. keyboardist spent the night in jail, though it appears he has now been released as well.
