photographer Noah Kalina, best known for taking a picture of himself every day for six years and turning the resulting montage into one of the most popular YouTube videos of all time, actually had his vanity project parodied yesterday on The Simpsons. Producers for the show even scored the bit with the same song Kalina used (an original composition by Caryl Comando that is also currently featured in spots for the NBA)—except, according to Kalina's blog, Fox folks never actually purchased rights to the song. (He ought to read the YouTube terms of service before giving his work away again, though. Like this nugget requiring users to give away "worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the User Submissions in connection with the YouTube Website and YouTube's (and its successors' and affiliates') business ...").
