Rudy OK with Pro-Gay Marriage Tag

Rudy Giuliani's attempts to have it both ways on gay marriage are starting to confuse people.
Time's current cover story features a chart on the five major Republican presidential candidates (Giuliani, John McCain, Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson and Newt Gingrich) identifying their weaknesses on a host of family-values issues. According to the chart, Giuliani is the only one of the five who does not oppose gay marriage.

The problem is Giuliani has said repeatedly that he does oppose gay marriage. He does, however, support gay civil unions, a nuanced position that strikes many hard-line social conservatives as an unacceptable fudge.
