Ron Paul: Overfunded and Underachieved

I DON'T KNOW, BUY ANOTHER BLIMP? Paul (Photo: Getty Images) Presidential fundraising reports for the last quarter of 2007 are now in and Ron Paul kicked every other Republican's ass. Though the Republican field as a whole is the JV fundraising squad when compared to the Democrats, Dr. No fanatics are still probably pretty psyched with their $19.9 million haul, since it's at least $10 million more than what Mitt Romney, John McCain, or Mike Huckabee raised during the same time period. (Richie Rich Romney, of course, more than made up for it by loaning his campaign $18 million from his personal fortune.)
Paul raised an additional $4 million in January, and is kicking off February with today's "money bomb" fundraising drive organized by his supporters in honor of his 51st wedding anniversary. So, no, this doesn't appear to be stopping any time soon. And, yes, the AP is reporting that Paul actually has a shot at winning this weekend's Maine caucus.
