Today, Mango, a Barcelona-based fashion brand which has collaborated with actress Penelope Cruz and whose ads feature the actress and her cleavage, announced that it will open a boutique in Abril, a Kurdish city in the north of Iraq.
Mango, like its competitors H&M and Zara, is known for producing trendy, sometimes revealing clothes at a reasonable cost. But modest Abril-ite women and their male relatives can rest easy. Cruz's provocative ads for the chain are unlikely to be plastered across the store and designs will be selected to reflect local cultural sensibilities.
