Pete Doherty Is On the Loose

Outside the prison gates, Doherty talked to the press and gave the Iron Lady a shout out, saying, "Thank you Mrs. Thatcher for putting me in the company of the most dangerous criminals in the country." • Body count rising: The Burmese regime is now reporting a death toll of 15,000 and 30,000 missing from Cyclone Nagris. The U.S. Embassy in Myanmar has released $250,000 in emergency aid, and Laura Bush says more is forthcoming—also, Jenna's wedding is going to be really special.
• Dinner conversation: Nearly eight years after the fact, Arianna Huffington now says John McCain told her he didn't vote for Bush back in 2000. McCain says not so and to "consider the source."
