Obama's Got Gay Wire Character's Back

Along with every TV critic in the world, Barack Obama really likes HBO's The Wire. And perhaps because the Illinois senator grew up during a time when openly gay black dudes were such outcasts they had to join fraternities populated entirely by white nerds, Obama is especially intrigued by the show's badass homosexual, Omar. "He's this gay gangster who only robs drug dealers, and then gives back," explains Obama in an interview. "He's the toughest, baddest guy on this show, but he's gay, you know. And it's really interesting."

Seeing an opportunity to capitalize on the popularity of the HBO hit, Rudy Giuliani is later said to have claimed that his favorite character on the show is that shady mayor guy who got caught getting a hummer from a staffer, 'cause, you know, he's totally been there himself.
