No Father Named On Birth Certificate of John Edwards' Alleged Love Child

The Raleigh News & Observer—hometown newspaper of John Edwards, no less!—has gotten its hands on the birth certificate of the child that his alleged mistress Rielle Hunter had back in February, and there's an interesting omission: the name of the father. This, despite the fact that Hunter told the National Enquirer that Edwards' former aide Andrew Young was the kid's dad more than two months before the baby was born. (The married Young has publicly claimed responsibility for the child as well.) Hunter's attorney explained his client's decision not to include a name by saying, "A lot of women do that;" when a News & Obsever told him that this didn't make much sense because the father's name was already in the public domain and uncontested by both parties, he replied, "That's a personal matter between them."
