  • And it's over: "Shareholders of Dow Jones & Co. formally approved the company's $60 a share sale to News Corp., clearing the way for the $5.6 billion deal to close later today." We hear that plenty of Wall Street Journal reporters showed up to witness the anti-climactic handover of their beloved paper to Rupert Murdoch, but Murdoch himself didn't bother to make an appearance. Still, he may have just been overtired from celebrating: he "attended an annual holiday lunch for Dow Jones executives and their support staff on the company's executive floor Wednesday. Like most of the executives, Mr. Murdoch wore a Santa cap." WSJ
