Mugabe Inaugurated As World Wags Its Finger

TERMS OF ENDEARMENT Mugabe (Photo: Getty Images) Amid much pomp and circumstance, Robert Mugabe was sworn in for a new five-year term as president of Zimbabwe Sunday. None of his fellow African heads of state were in attendance—apparently they had a problem with that whole violent suppression of the opposition thing Mugabe does so well. Also not in attendance was opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai, the man who should have been getting inaugurated. Mugabe had smugly invited Tsvangirai who said, "The whole inauguration is meaningless as far as I'm concerned, so I can't give support to an exercise I'm totally opposed to."
