ROUGH TRADE Kleeb at Yale As you may have heard, the midterm elections are less than a month off. While most political junkies are fixated on the usual gallery of tragically coiffed imbeciles, an upstart candidate from the great state of Nebraska is setting hearts aflutter.
Meet Scott Kleeb, the Democratic candidate for Nebraska's 3rd district. According to his bio, he's a fourth generation corn husker who's dedicated his life to public service. He created his own Declaration of Independence From Special Interest Groups, wants to curb wasteful spending, and is a tireless advocate for Nebraska's farmers.
Not that anyone cares. Have you seen the guy?
Writing on his blog on October 15, poli-pundit Andrew Sullivan gushed: "The appeal of hotness in political campaigns seems on the rise... I'm not sure if Kleeb is a Democrat or a Republican. And I'm not sure I care." A day later, Sullivan called Kleeb "easy on the eyes" and reprinted The Omaha World-Herald's endorsement.
