Mischa Barton, the actress best known for pouting her way through two seasons of the The O.C. before being killed off in a car crash, suffered another bout of automative trouble in Los Angeles late last night when she was arrested and booked for driving under the influence. The L.A. Sheriff's office is currently working on a press release regarding the arrest, but preliminary details note that she was arrested at 2:46 a.m. driving a white Range Rover on the corner of La Cienega and Santa Monica Blvds. Perhaps Baron could have avoid this icky post-Christmas mess by heeding this "Captain's Message" from the LAPD: "The 'Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest.' National Crackdown is scheduled for December 15th through 31st ... Current Focused Traffic Enforcement Locations: Centinela Avenue between the 405 Freeway and La Cienega Blvd" (emphasis ours).

UPDATE: TMZ adds that she is still in custody, and was booked for possession of narcotics as well. So it is possible to have a white Christmas in sunny Los Angeles!
