  • As he fought to have his guilty plea overturned, stall-cruising Senator Larry Craig was essentially claiming that the cops confused him about his rights and made him confess. "Senator Craig panicked and chose to plead to a crime he did not commit," his attorney Thomas M. Kelly writes in a legal argument filed in Minnesota court. "Senator Craig waved all these constitutional rights in a moment of panic, and chose to plead guilt to a crime he did not commit based in part on the law enforcement officer's inaccurate statements that doing so would ensure that the illegible actions would not be made public."
