THE NEW JOEMENTUM Biden
If you thought last night's presidential debate was going to be another predictable affair where Democratic candidates incessantly bickered over who opposes the war in Iraq more, you were pretty much right on. Sen. Joe Biden, however, crushed it.
While others trumpeted their long-standing opposition to the war—or sprinted away from their previous support for it—Biden took a articulate, bright, clean stand by his recent vote to fund the troops in Iraq. "I knew the right political vote, but I tell you what, some things are worth losing elections over." He even called out his fellow members of Congress who've been pledging to end the war despite the absence of a veto-proof majority: "You need 67 votes to end this war. I love these guys who tell you they're going to stop the war."
