I SEE LONDON ... Reese design, Sedgwick (inset) It seems that Sienna's no-pants homage to Edie Sedgwick was right on the money. On Sunday, the short look was in full effect at New York Fashion Week, thanks to Australian talent Toni Maticevski, who sent models down the runway in their Skivvies.
The Oz-born Maticevski has been garnering rave reviews in Australia since he quit his job with Donna Karan to start his own label, Maticevski. This season, he dropped the romance and aimed squarely at the zeitgeist.
Designer Tracy Reese jumped in on the ultra-mini bandwagon, too, pairing with hosiery designer Hue to create dangerously mini tight-and-tunic combos that are nearly NSFW. Though the look seems to work on teenage Latvians, the collections that ship to actual stores will have to be cut more forgivingly. Unless, that is, Paris or Lindsay make a call of protest first.
