Is Anyone Having an Oscar Party?

CRY IF YOU WANT TO Oscar Vanity Fair and William Morris agent Ed Limato aren't the only ones to cancel their annual Oscar-night extravaganzas. WWD brings word today that beleaguered IAC chairman Barry Diller and "wife" Diane von Furstenberg have also canceled their pre-Oscar lunch, while "handsome blonde" Dani Janssen has decided to put a lid on her annual post-Oscar shindig as well.
Thankfully, it's not all gloomy news: Elton John is still going ahead with his hot-ticket post-party at the Pacific Design Center, while Variety is proceeding with both its Night Before and Night Before the Night Before parties (both, it should be noted, are for charity). No word as to whether $1600-shoe-wearing Endeavor agent Patrick Whitesell and uber-producer Mike de Luca will save A-List talent from the indignity of spending Oscar night at In-N-Out Burger by hosting their annual private after-after parties.
