BACK ON THE ATTACK Imus
Don Imus's beef with CBS just keeps growing. While it's been reported that the offense-giving radio host plans to seek $120 million in damages in a breach of contract suit against his former employer, a source with knowledge of the situation says that amount has been revised upwards and is likely to be close to $200 million by the time the complaint is actually filed.
Imus, who was canned by CBS Radio (and dropped by MSNBC) after calling female college basketball players "nappy-headed hos" on his program, plans to argue that his contract explicitly gave him the right to be "irreverent" and "controversial" and stipulated that he must be warned at least once before being terminated. A spokeswoman for CBS Radio had no comment, and Imus's lawyer, Martin Garbus, didn't return messages.
