Although Hilary Duff didn't directly discuss her break-up with Joel Madden last night during a stop on her "Dignity" tour at Radio City, the subject was addressed in not-so-subtle ways.
Duff covered one of her favorites, Pat Benatar's "Love is a Battlefield," instructing the clueless, mostly six-to-10-year-old girls to put their hands in the air as she did—with fists. Wonder if Nicole Richie BD Madden was in her head when she cried out, "We are strong, no one can tell us we're wrong / Searchin' our hearts for so long, both of us knowing / Love is a battlefield / You're beggin' me to go, you're makin' me stay / Why do you hurt me so bad? / It would help me to know / Do I stand in your way, or am I the best thing you've had?"
Before singing another tune, "Wake Up," she explained, "There's always, like, some sort of negativity and something stressing you out ... or people judging you ... This song's about not letting any of that get to you and just having a good time and being yourself."
