SUPERFRIENDS Panettiere, costar Adrian Pasdar at the Upfronts
• Fresh from the swag tents at the television networks' advertiser showcase known as the Upfronts: Hayden Panettiere, the cheerleader from Heroes, asked for two extra pairs of Luxottica Prada collection sunglasses at Lucky magazine's Lucky Club at the Ritz-Carlton on Monday. She wanted the black, red, and white ones, a spy reports. "I hate shopping. I don't shop," she confessed. "That's why I get so excited when I get to go to these things. I don't have time and I think there's more important things that I spend my time on—working, relaxing, spending time with my friends, participating in charities ... as many as I can. There are a lot more important things we should be spending our money on." Free, though. That's righteous.
• Candace Bushnell seemed thrilled that the Lipstick Jungle series was picked up by NBC yesterday. "It comes from my New York Times best-selling novel, so in a sense I've been working on this since 2004." She declined to comment on reports that she and her former chum and Sex and the City producer Darren Starr are in a spat, saying only, "Well, Lipstick Jungle is the original. It's a hot, hot, hot, fantastic idea, and it captures the zeitgeist ... I can only talk about Lipstick Jungle. It's our day today." When a male reporter asked her if the characters are "the same neurotic women of Sex and the City," she admonished him: "I don't think they're neurotic. That's a man's point of view."

• Overheard from NBC honchos at the NFL Sunday Night Football preview at Monday's Upfronts: "We already have a strong team. And we have added Tiki Barber and Keith Olbermann. I know some of you are saying, 'Why Keith Olbermann?' It's part of this ongoing effort at NBC to see if we can get him saying something nice about Bush—even if it has to be Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints!"
