Gucci Ad Channels Equus

CHEEKY! Gucci campaign Most often, fashion ads make headlines when they're courting controversy via a gang rape scene, heroin-chic homage, or just showing way too much skin. This time, Gucci's spring campaign is getting noticed because its model is, well, smiling.
While most high-fashion ads show models sulking, playing dead, or just looking extremely hungry, Gucci broke the mold this season by featuring a blonde model snapped in a floor-length black gown with an ear to ear grin. The reason for her euphoria? She's perched under the nether regions of a gigantic stone horse. As The Guardian mused, "What you don't often see in a fashion advert is a model giving a colonic to an unspecified four-legged animal."

Sure, it's not quite as cheeky as that famous Mario Testino ad for Gucci, back when Tom Ford was at the reins, but it would have been fun to hear the art director at this shoot screech, "Darling, clutch that horse's balls like you mean it!"
