Fox's New Jewish Flick Bad for the Jews?

THE 350 CLUB Crouch gets an on-air grilling from mom and dad FoxFaith, the new arm of Rupert Murdoch's empire devoted to releasing Christian films, is courting Jewish audiences with its upcoming movie, One Night With the King. Starring Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif, it depicts the Purim story from the Book of Esther and is currently being focus-grouped among select Jewish audiences. Oddly, its main cast includes only one Jewish actor (Steven Bernstein, who plays Esther's father) and the film's producers include several evangelical Christians known for their obsession with the End Times.

One of them, Matthew Crouch—son of cut-rate Christian broadcasters Jan and Paul Crouch—is best known, if at all, for splicing footage of the World Trade Center disaster into trailers for his apocalypse-themed thriller, Megiddo: The Omega Code 2, which was released shortly after 9/11. (In an interview, Crouch said the timing made him "giddy.") Stephan Blinn, who wrote and co-produced Megiddo, also wrote and produced One Night With the King.
