WHA' HAPPENED? Feingold With just about every big-name Democrat there is queuing up for the 2008 presidential race, it takes uniquely bad luck to place your bets on the guy who decided not to run. Such is the luck of Sandy Horwitt, whose biography of Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold was timed to arrive in mid-July, just as interest in the election will be coming to a boil.
Simon & Schuster, which is publishing Feingold, promises in its Summer 2007 catalog, "Feingold will be all over the news in the run-up to the 2007 election." Horwitt says Feingold's decision to sit out the race, announced in November, won't affect the book's publication date or print run. "It was never intended as a campaign biography," he adds.
