NOT GAP, H&M Mystery jeans
In buttoned-down Washington, D.C., apparently, fame is less important than wearing the right pants. In fact, a big-time star was recently turned away from swanky Capitol eatery Citronelle. Trouble was, she was wearing jeans, says Chipp Sandground, who's partners with Citronelle chef (and James Beard award winner) Michel Richard in his new D.C. hotspot, Central Michel Richard.
When told she was improperly dressed in jeans, said pop star snapped at the maitre d' "that her jeans were more expensive than his car," Sandground said.
So, who's that girl?
"It wasn't Madonna," he replied.
It was an actress, though?
"No, it wasn't Madonna."
Right. It wasn't a Washingtonian?
"No."
So you're saying it was Madonna?
"I'm not saying—no, I said, it definitely wasn't Madonna. Didn't you hear me?" he added, with a laugh.
