Recently, Rodriguez is rumored to have developed an interest Kabbalah, the school of Jewish mysticism for which Madonna has long been a high-profile celebrity representative. Wife Cynthia Rodriguez has implied that her husband's interest in the religion is more than passing, and that Madonna actually stoked his interest in the sect in order to lure him away. Dodd Romero, one of Rodriguez's former trainers, agrees, claiming that Madonna has effectively "brainwashed" the baseball star.
