City of Miami to Castro: Drop Dead
Oct. 27 2008, Published 7:07 a.m. ET
WHERE DA PARTY AT? Castro The city of Miami is planning a blowout fiesta with music and souvenir T-shirts for Cuba's Fidel Castro. Unfortunately for Castro, they're gonna throw it after he's dead.
The Miami Herald reports that City Commissioner Tomás Regalado is beginning discussions about using the Orange Bowl stadium (conveniently located in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood) for a party after the ailing Cuban dictator dies. But first, they need to figure out a way to describe it without sounding like the city is officially mocking his death. "That has to be done with a lot of sensitivity,'' committee member (and former state Representative) Luis Morse told the Herald. "Somebody needs to be a very good wordsmith.''
