China's government has decreed that China's American Idol knockoff Happy Boys Voice may have "no weirdness, no vulgarity, no low taste," bringing to mind the question: Why would anyone want to watch it? But the restrictions go on as only "healthy and ethnically inspiring songs" will be permitted, and there are to be no "scenes of screaming fans or losing contestants in tears," making it essentially American Idol minus the entertainment value.
