Despite Reports, CBS Reports It's Not in Talks To Outsource Its Reporting to CNN

The New York Times reports that CBS is in talks with CNN to outsource its reporting (that problematic, expensive nuisance that execs can't quite find a way to clip from evening newscasts). Because CNN is just so damned good at it. In the future, five or six reporters for CNNABCBSPN will cover everything for every news outlet. But don't worry, the identities of the various networks will still lie in the delivery of this news by uniquely cute anchors, like Katie Couric! In a testament to the need for outside help, a CBS news spokesperson responds to the multiply sourced report on the latest round of talks with CNN by saying, "We are extremely pleased with and proud of our news-gathering operation. No outside arrangements are being negotiated." NYT, More at TVNewser, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, HuffPo
