day has come and gone, and while at this point most baseball fans probably wouldn't care if a slugger stood at home plate and jabbed a needle in his bicep, admitted juicer Jose Canseco is still trying to ruin the reputation of stripper-loving Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez. Not because he cares about the integrity of the game, mind you—but because A-Rod totally tried to bone his ex-wife. Or maybe/probably/actually did!

On David Letterman last night, Canseco intimated that the relationship between A-Rod and his wife might have been more serious than he let on in Vindicated: "I started realizing that he somehow acquired her beeper number and her phone number and started calling her," Canseco told Letterman. "I definitely believe and I know that something happened after that." Asked by Letterman if he knew this for a fact or if he simply believed it happened, Canseco responded, "I know for a fact, but I think my ex-wife Jessica could answer that better."

So why isn't A-Rod denying the allegations? Because Canseco says he can produce "Max," the Canadian steroid dealer he recommended to A-Rod. "I've got the ace in the hole," Canseco told the Daily News. "And he knows it. So there's no way that he's going to fight me. He's trying to make it go away."

So, uh, yeah. Straight from the mouth of a very reputable horse.
