Britney Spears: Newish American Princess?

Earlier this month, we wondered: What is the deal with Britney Spears and the Jews?

To judge from this photo of Spears wearing a Star of David pendant in today's New York Daily News, it appears that after dating several nice Jewish boys since she filed for divorce from Kevin Federline, Spears now considers herself a member of the tribe.

Then again, as self-styled cult expert Rick Ross wrote last year, the former singer-turned-full-time mom and tabloid fixture "seems to drift from one religion to another lately and apparently can't quite make up her mind."

We eagerly await the inevitable panty-less paparazzi photos of Spears emerging from the mikvah.
