THESE ARE NOT PRE-TWEEN BREASTS Of-age chest, bra (Photo: Getty Images) What to get that seven-year-old girl who has everything? If you're on the other side of the pond, simply head to British superstore Tesco, a chain that has recently been accused of pushing a padded bra on girls as young as seven and eight years old. While teachers' and children's group have their nips in a twist over the pre-tween miracle bras, which retail for £4 ($8), Tesco is supporting its push of the undergarments. A store spokesman says the bra "is a product designed for girls at that self-conscious age when they are just developing ... it is designed to cover up, not flatter, and was developed after speaking to parents." Of course, such a quote points to an inherent contradiction. While some undeveloped prepubescents may want to just "cover up," it's likely that just as many want to push them up. This isn't the first time that Great Britain has surpassed the U.S. in sexualizing its youth.
