ARTIST'S RENDERING Newsman • I, for one, welcome our new insurance overlords: The New York Times's The New York Times (great reporter, that Times) reports that former AIG chief Maurice R. Greenberg is snapping up Times stock in what could be a takeover bid. The story was originally reported by a newspaper. Flashback: In November 2004, New York looked at Greenberg and his son, Jeffrey, ex-husband of journalist Nikki Finke.
• Bad sex, please, we're British: A hearty congratulations and a how's-your-father to the awesomely-named Iain Hollingshead, whose first book, Twenty Something, won the prestigious Bad Sex Award from England's Literary Review. Judges were apparently moved by his invocation of "bulging trousers," and not his name, Iain Hollingshead, which is so, so awesome!
• It's the most wonderful time of the year: America's tough loving Great Santini-ish father figure Bill O'Reilly has some new material for his crusade against the "War on Christmas."
• BASABE NAILED BY 'JOHN' IN TV SHOCKER: Did you miss ABC's John Stossel grilling party boy Fabian Basabe last night? ABC helpfully provides the online videos.
