  • Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd, who dropped out of the presidential race after receiving fewer votes than the crazy old guy from Alaska, will endorse Barack Obama at a campaign stop in Cleveland today. The move could help shore up support for Obama among liberals and Hispanics. (Dodd is a fluent speaker of Spanish, and it's a well-known fact that Hispanics will vote for anyone who speaks their language or is even endorsed by someone who speaks their language.) The endorsement comes as a blow to Hillary Clinton, but also presents some difficulties for the Obama campaign, which will need to keep Dodd separated from fellow-endorser Ted Kennedy, because you get those guys together near a bar and all of a sudden it's two days later and you're waking up on some strange beach wondering where your pants are.
