The American people are demanding change and, by God, things seem to be lining up so that they just might get it. Barack Obama wants change. Hillary Clinton: officially pro-change. And John McCain definitely looks like he can't wait to get his hands on the system and start violently shaking some change into it. So the change train's a-comin', right? No doubt—except for in those few areas that, as Foreign Policy reminds us, are totally immune to change no matter who's elected president. So, regarding our dependence on foreign oil, our highly partisan political landscape, our eroding manufacturing base and, of course, the staggering degree to which lobbyists, China, Israel, and the military-industrial complex influence the federal government's decision-making process: these things, no, they will not be changing.
