EXHAUSTED EFFORTS Brange Nearly 17 months after the orphan-rescuing actress-slash-UN envoy announced a deal to create a new children's charity with St. John, the project in question is still little more than a kindly notion. In September 2005, luxury apparel maker St. John hired Jolie as its new spokesmodel. As part of the arrangement, the company agreed to create a foundation benefiting children's causes, which Jolie was to oversee. Though no timetable was set, a St. John spokeswoman assured RadarOnline.com in September that an announcement about the fund's structure and beneficiaries would be announced "definitely before the end of the year."
