Anand Jon, the extraordinarily creepy Indian fashion designer who has been charged with dozens of counts of rape, sexual battery, forced oral copulation, and sexual exploitation of a child by dozens of women aged 14 to 23 in three states, still has two allies on his side: his sister and his lawyer.

"This demonisation is happening because he broke into an industry where Americans find difficult to break into," says sister Sanjana. His attorney concurs. "Anand's phenomenal success raised a few eyebrows ... they could not digest it." Not helping his case is the fact that the girls accusing him of rape hate brown people: "Racial discrimination could be a factor," his lawyer adds.
