LIKE JESUS Zinczenko forgives
Dave Zinczenko has been called a lot of things. Here's a new one: forgiving.
On Wednesday night, the Men's Health editor in chief made his way over to the Hotel Gansevoort for Maxim's Hot 100 party. His presence there was surprising enough, given the fierce rivalry between the two titles. But it was even more curious to guests who remembered what Maxim editor in chief Jimmy Jellinek said about Zinczenko in a December 2005 interview with now-defunct Web 'zine Black Table.
"Which magazine editor is most undeserving of their success?" Jellinek, then editor of Stuff, was asked.
"That schmuck from Men's Health," he replied.
Zinczenko—who scoffed at our report that he might host a cheesy dating show, only to turn up as the prize in an even cheesier show's dating contest—had no comment when asked if he'd forgiven Jellinek, or was merely willing to overlook the slight for a chance to ogle Lindsay Lohan close-up. But sources say Jellinek apologized for the put-down not long after making it, and the two are now friendly. Says Jellinek, "Water under the bridge."
